Huge success and animation after the launch of Vento di Sardegna, fast Open 50 belonging to ocean racer Andrea Mura going to attempt an hystorical “double” at the next Route du Rhum regatta, departing in November from St Malò.
The boat has been put into water in Cagliari after some improvements on hull and sails, Gigi Riva – mythical Rombo di Tuono legendary forwarder from golden years of Cagliari Calcio and Italian National Team – baptized the same with a good bottle of red wine from Cantine Loi.
Great enthusiasm coming also from the “guests of honour” called by Andrea Mura to attend to this auspicious launch: Mauro Frongia, well-known urologist doing the first robotic transplants; Anna Tifu, extraordinary violinist known at worldwide stage; Roberto Zanda, triathlete and extreme runner. All notable representatives of Sardinia Region among the entire world, come to team together with Mura keeping up “Quattro Mori” flag.
“We have three keywords to define this new challenge – Mura says – first of all passion, for sport, for saling in particular, for our country and the new target to win. Then, identity. We run for a Flag, not for a specific Brand. We run without merely marketing goals, Gigi Riva – loyal to Cagliari Calcio for his entire career – is really the right person to demonstrate this value”.
“Technology is the third keyword – Mura clarifies – this boat is a mix of cutting edge solutions and materials such as carbon, titanium and last generation electronics. Our technical sponsors support us within the implementation of innovative solutions and we often use (upon my specific request) prototypes than will be launched only later on into the market. We are developers and testers at the same time, to have our boat always rigged at best to run the best of the performane, despite it dates back by a decade”
Mura will leave Cagliari at the beginning of August to stop over first in Valencia and then in France to make some final fine tunings. November is approaching, the new regatta is coming close, once again he will push himself to his physical and technical limits to catch a dream. To search for new challenges and records to win.
