Ubiquity has supported the solo sailor, Andrea Mura, during his accomplishments and his races around the world since 2013.
Mura was born in Cagliari, Italy. He dedicated his life to sailing since he was fourteen years old and soon after he gained multiple great achievements.
His latest race was in 2014, “Route du Rhum”, which is a transatlantic single-handed yacht race, which takes place every 4 years. The course is between Saint Malo, Brittany, France and Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe, 3.543 miles in North Atlantic Ocean.
Mura won this race in the 2010, and in 2014 he got first place in Monohulls, with his boat “Vento di Sardegna”, the fastest Open 50 in the world.
Now, after setting up his boat, Mura and “Vento di Sardegna” are back again.
Mura will meet his fans in Cagliari, 18th of March, 2016.
This day will be the official launch of his sports program during this year, with “Roma per 1”, and other important races in the Mediterranean Sea.
The boat will be called “Ubiquity-Vento di Sardegna” honoring the main sponsor.
During this event participants from New “Sardinia Sail” will also take part (this Association supports the social reintegration of people and helped Mura during the boat maintenance).
Mura states:“ It’s very exciting to start sailing again with “Vento di Sardegna. Thanks to all of my team members. Also during this year we will try to entertain people and to break some records. Thanks to all who have supported me; our partners and sponsor, especially Ubiquity, media-partner and the press.”
Dario Calogero – CEO of Ubiquity- said “For Ubiquity, associating its name with Andrea Mura is a privilege. We have supported him from long time ago, and this year, with pleasure, we just became the Main Sponsor of Andrea Mura. Ubiquity is a challenging company, the same as Mura, it will be interesting to sail together and get many achievements”.
